About the show
On this evening, the stage will welcome Japanese conductor Kotaro Kimura and soprano soloist Satoko Ota. Accompanied by a symphony orchestra, they will perform the finest music from the iconic animated films of Hayao Miyazaki and composer Joe Hisaishi.
The program features music from legendary anime films such as Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and other audience favorites.
The music will transport you into a world of enchanted forests, mysterious cities, and extraordinary adventures. In Miyazaki’s films, music plays a special role — creating atmosphere, revealing the characters, and filling every moment with true magic.
Under the baton of Kotaro Kimura, the orchestra will bring these stories to life, while the enchanting soprano of Satoko Ota will give them a voice. The instruments will tell tales of the sound of the sea, the rustle of trees, the flight of the wind, and the breath of a fairytale world.
